What’s an Original Way to Say Thank You?
For the last few months, Richard Hitchin Photography has been signed up to the Portraits of Togetherness campaign, organised by The Guild of Photographers. This is targeted towards NHS workers who are working on our front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A strong part of my ethos is to give something back to the community through my photography business, where I can.
What better way to say thank you to those who are looking after the country, than through portraits of them that will capture their bravery, selflessness and resilience? These are real life, everyday heroes. By definition, portraits shine the spotlight on to the subject… and capturing photos of NHS workers will serve as a great memento of these individuals’ hard work during such a difficult time.
If you visit The Guild’s website and click on the campaign, there is a catalogue of photographers across the UK (organised by different regions) who are offering photo shoots and portraits to NHS workers. Currently Richard Hitchin Photography is the only listed photographer in Leicestershire.
As a Guild of Photographers professional member and a business owner, I am very proud to be a part of this campaign: it is not only a great way to say thanks, but to give something back to the community. If you search for my name, you will see my current offers:
1.) A FREE one day introduction to photography workshop for NHS workers (with lunch included)
2.) 50% off for NHS worker photo shoots until the end of the year. I will include 10 free, high-resolution digital images of the person’s choice
This could be a fantastic gift for someone you know — perhaps you have a friend or family member who works for the NHS that you can refer to me. Or even just a gift for yourself, if you are a proud NHS worker.
Steve and Lesley Thirsk (the directors of The Guild) said:
“The Guild has an amazing and highly varied photographic community, and many initiatives are member-driven, as this one is. We are proud of Richard Hitchin Photography generously committing to this campaign, and are looking forward to seeing some of the amazing images from both the photography workshops and photo shoots, as well as hearing about the local NHS nominated heroes!”
